Bali National Golf Club Closed — Where to Play Instead (2026)

Planning a golf trip to Bali and had Bali National Golf Club on the list? Here’s the situation as of September 2026: Bali National in Nusa Dua is closed and not taking tee times. The club is expected to reopen in early 2027.

If your trip is before then, this page is for you. Below are the three courses that are open, what each one costs in 2026, how far they are from Nusa Dua, and which one is the closest match to what you were expecting at Bali National.

Bali National Golf Club — what’s happening

Bali National is the 18-hole championship course inside the Nusa Dua resort enclave. It’s been closed since mid-2026 and the club has indicated it will reopen early next year. Until then there are no bookings, no walk-ins, and no driving range.

We’ll update this page the moment tee times open again. If you’d like us to tell you when that happens, message us on WhatsApp and we’ll add you to the list.

1. New Kuta Golf — the direct replacement for Bali National

If you wanted a proper championship round on the Bukit, New Kuta Golf is the answer. It’s a full-length 18-hole links-style layout on the cliffs above Uluwatu, with several holes running along the ocean edge. It hosts tournaments, it has a real driving range and practice area, and it’s the course most visiting golfers rate as Bali’s best.

From Nusa Dua it’s about 30 minutes by car — 10 minutes further than Bali National would have been from most Nusa Dua hotels, and an easy morning.

  • Green fee: Rp2.200.000 per golfer, including cart and caddie
  • Tee times: from 06:30 AM
  • Clubs: bring your own or hire a premium set from us for Rp600.000, delivered to the course
  • Dress code: collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, soft spikes

2. Bukit Pandawa Golf — if you want the ocean without the 5-hour round

Bukit Pandawa is Southeast Asia’s first championship par-3 course: 18 holes from roughly 80 to 160 yards, all on a limestone clifftop above Pandawa Beach. It’s only 20 minutes from Nusa Dua, a round takes 2–3 hours, and it works for everyone from beginners to single-figure players who want to sharpen their irons.

It’s not a substitute for a full-length course — but for a group with mixed abilities, a couple where one person is new to golf, or a second round on a trip, it’s the easiest yes in Bali.

  • Green fee: Rp1.750.000 per golfer, including cart and caddie
  • Round length: 2–3 hours
  • Non-golfers: can ride along in the cart

3. Bali Handara Golf — the day trip that’s worth it

Bali Handara sits inside an extinct volcanic crater in Bedugul, 1,200 m above sea level, ringed by rainforest and mountain lakes. It’s regularly listed among the world’s top 50 courses and it plays completely differently from the coastal courses — cooler, greener, quieter.

It’s a 2.5-hour drive from Nusa Dua, so it’s a full day out. Most guests pair it with the Bedugul temples and the Jatiluwih rice terraces on the way back. We arrange the transport.

  • Green fee: Rp1.800.000 per golfer, including cart and caddie
  • Transport: private car from your hotel, arranged by us

Which one should you pick?

  • “I booked a Nusa Dua hotel specifically to play Bali National.” → New Kuta Golf. It’s 30 minutes away and it’s a better course.
  • “We’re a group and not everyone plays.” → Bukit Pandawa. Non-golfers ride along, rounds are short, the views are the point.
  • “We’ve got three or four days and want variety.” → New Kuta one morning, Pandawa another, Handara as a day trip. Ask us for a package price.
  • “We only have one morning.” → New Kuta for serious golfers, Pandawa for everyone else.

Getting there from Nusa Dua

New Kuta and Bukit Pandawa are both on the Bukit Peninsula, the same limestone headland as Nusa Dua. Traffic is light before 8 AM. We can arrange a private car from any Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Seminyak or Canggu hotel — just tick “Transport” when you book, or tell us on WhatsApp.

How booking works

  1. Tell us the course, date, tee time and number of players — on the course page or on WhatsApp.
  2. We confirm the tee time with the course, usually within the hour.
  3. You pay after confirmation. Free to cancel until we confirm.

We book every course at or below the published rate, and club hire and transport are added at the same time so there’s nothing to organise on the day.
